About The Role
You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the stability and reliability of the business systems, network and communications infrastructure.
Ideal Person
We are seeking someone with a positive attitude who is keen to advance their skills in system administration. A 'go-getter' with a passion for IT, who wants to grow in the role. A Service Desk Background is okay if you are willing to learn and grow your skills in the role.
Initially the role will be hybrid across Melbourne/Bendigo, then will move to 4/5 days per week on-site in Bendigo.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualisation.
- Upgrading, patching, restoring of and backing up of all software and operating systems.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Where necessary you will be required to upgrade on-premises cloud infrastructure to industry standards,
taking all necessary steps to improve and maintain a high quality of performance.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database maintenance and performance (Namely SQL).
Desired Experience:
- 3+ yrs of network administration, system administration experience.
- An associate or Bachelor's qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
- System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, or other network related fields.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PC/laptops, peripherals and software upgrades and other general IT tasks.
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking.
- Strong Office 365 Corporate application configuration and support.
- Wi-Fi network planning, administration, configuration and continuity planning.
- Networking, hardware including switches, firewalls, routers and common networking protocols such as MPLS, VPN SLL/IPSEC.
- Experience with Azure environments.
