A Melbourne-based design studio that's been offering clients value and quality architectural, interior design, master planning, landscape design, and project management services for close to two decades is now seeking 2 x Project Architect to join their team and provide value-add professional service to their clients. Your new responsibilities
- Clarify the client's design brief and requirements to better identify and analyse variations, types, sizes and styles between planned buildings and existing buildings
- Create design briefs and supporting materials including details about designs, materials, and anticipated construction times
- Develop the accepted design idea, create project paperwork for presenting to client, integrate it with the engineer's structural and mechanical drawings, and integrate it with the landscape drawings to produce the aesthetic components of the master design
- Be on construction site in ensuring builders comply with design specifications and advising on correction matters
- Prepare documentation required to apply for planning permits, including contacting planners and other advisers for advice
- Create working drawings, freehand drawings, letter to accompany drawings and specifications to guarantee that the design and details meet all applicable rules and specifications in order to satisfy the demands of all authorities with jurisdiction
- Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation in order to graphically represent building plan
Required experience, skills and qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience as an experience Architect (or experienced graduate of Architecture soon to obtain your registration)
- Medium to High level of experience in Autodesk Revit. Other software such as Rhino, SketchUp are an advantage.
- Medium level experience working in BIM360 environment.
- Experience in meeting project deadlines and following project program from Schematic design to As-Built handover. (LOD100 to LOD500).
- Experience with Architectural Design Delivery throughout design cycle.
- Understanding of BIM procedures for Architectural models and coordination with other Services Consultants.
- Very good understanding of building systems, construction materials /methods / techniques - for new and existing structures.
- Experience with Shop-Drawing reviews and subcontractor coordination
- Strong grasp of architectural detailing, scheduling and specification research and documentations
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of NCC and Australian Standards
- An eye for aesthetics
- You have a can-do attitude, high level of attention to detail
