About the role
Ammjohn Solutions are expanding their Adelaide team with an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take a leading role in the delivery of electrical engineering across our growing portfolio of projects.
This is a hands-on senior position for someone who enjoys being involved in the technical detail while also leading people and projects.
You will take ownership of electrical engineering scopes, provide technical direction to the wider project team and lead and mentor electrical engineers and designers.
Key responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering and design activities across a range of multidisciplinary projects.
Take ownership of electrical scopes and deliverables, including scope, schedule, budget and technical quality.
Lead and coordinate electrical engineers and designers, allocate work and provide day-to-day technical direction.
Review and approve electrical drawings, calculations, datasheets, specifications and other engineering documentation.
Review single line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs;, flow diagrams and associated electrical documentation.
Work closely with Project Managers, Project Leads and other engineering disciplines to coordinate project delivery and resolve technical issues.
Manage electrical interfaces across multidisciplinary projects.
Work directly with clients, contractors and vendors to provide practical engineering advice and resolve issues as they arise.
Support project budgets, variations, procurement, tendering and vendor engagement.
Lead and participate in design reviews, Safety in Design workshops, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, risk assessments and constructability reviews.
Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning, including RFIs, contractor submissions,



inspections, testing and site support where required.
Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers and help build capability across the electrical team.
Contribute to the development of Ammjohn's electrical engineering standards, processes and ways of working.
Support proposals, tenders, client relationships and business development activities as required.
Promote safe, practical and high-quality engineering across the projects you work on.
About you
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent recognised engineering qualification.
7-10 years' industry experience, including experience in a senior electrical engineering or project engineering role.
Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating engineers and/or designers.
Strong practical knowledge and understanding of relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience delivering electrical engineering scopes across the project lifecycle.
Experience working within technically complex operational environments such as mining, resources, oil and gas, power generation, renewables, infrastructure or heavy industry.
Strong project management skills with an understanding of scope, schedule, budget and project controls.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
Strong communication,



leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, project teams, contractors and vendors.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), RPEQ or working towards professional registration is desirable.
