Matching Minds is looking for exceptional secondary tutors based in Western Australia who have a strong understanding of the
WA curriculum and WACE pathway
.
We're particularly interested in tutors with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Mathematics, particularly students preparing for
Mathematics Applications
Politics and Law / Humanities
Human Biology / Science
You do not need to tutor all three areas.
If you are outstanding in just one of these subjects, we'd still love to hear from you.
The role
You'll provide personalised
1-to-1 online tutoring
to secondary students, initially focusing on students in Years 9 and 10 who need support building their knowledge, confidence and foundations for their senior secondary studies.
The tutoring itself is online, so you can work from home.
However,
strong knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum is essential
.
We are specifically looking for tutors who understand what WA students are being taught, the expected achievement standards and how Years 9 and 10 learning connects with senior secondary/WACE subjects.
What we're looking for
You might be:
A current or former WA secondary school teacher
A teaching student with strong subject knowledge
A university student or graduate who completed their secondary schooling in WA
An experienced tutor who regularly works with WA secondary students
Someone with particularly strong knowledge of Mathematics, Human Biology, Politics & Law or related areas
More importantly, you'll be someone who can
actually teach




— not simply someone who knows the content.
Our best tutors can explain difficult concepts in different ways, build rapport with teenagers and help students become more confident and independent learners.
You'll ideally have
Strong knowledge of the
Western Australian secondary curriculum
Excellent knowledge in at least one of our target subject areas
Confidence tutoring Years 9–10 students
Strong communication and explanation skills
The ability to adapt your teaching style to different students
Reliability and professionalism
A genuine interest in helping young people succeed
A valid Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
Reliable internet and a suitable workplace for online tutoring
