AUSWIDE TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS is seeking an experienced
Diesel Mechanic & Trailer Mechanic
to join our team in Direk SA ****.
This is a
full-time position
that plays a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and safety of our transport fleet.
You will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel-powered vehicles and trailers, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
This position is essential to our commitment to providing dependable transport solutions to our clients.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel engines and associated systems, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and electrical components
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and belt inspections on diesel vehicles
Service and maintain trailer components, including brakes, suspension systems, lighting, and coupling mechanisms
Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles and trailers to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns
Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
Perform brake adjustments, replacements, and repairs to ensure compliance with safety regulations
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work completed on vehicles and trailers
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations
Communicate effectively with management and drivers regarding vehicle condition and maintenance requirements
Identify and order necessary parts and components for repairs and maintenance
What we're looking for
A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in diesel mechanics or automotive engineering
Proven experience working as a diesel mechanic, ideally within the transport or haulage industry
Demonstrated experience in trailer maintenance and repairs




Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, fuel systems, and electrical systems
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
A solid understanding of vehicle safety regulations and compliance requirements
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable, professional attitude with a strong safety focus
Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence (desirable)
Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
