Trump Steel is looking for an experienced and motivated
Trade Sales Person
to join our growing team at our Yatala branch.
This is a hands-on trade sales position suited to someone who has experience in the
steel, construction, building or hardware industry
and understands the needs of tradies, builders and other trade customers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage incoming trade sales enquiries by phone, email and in person
Prepare accurate quotes and follow up with customers
Build and maintain strong relationships with trade customers
Process customer orders and coordinate with the warehouse team
Provide product advice and assist customers in selecting the correct steel products
Serve customers at the trade counter
Assist with pricing and sourcing of products
Follow up outstanding quotes and sales opportunities
Liaise with suppliers when required
Assist with picking and packing orders when required
Occasionally assist with deliveries and loading/unloading steel
Maintain a clean, organised and professional sales environment
Provide excellent customer service from enquiry through to completed order
About You
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Previous experience in
trade sales, steel sales, building supplies or a similar industry
Positive knowledge of steel products, sizes and applications
Strong communication and customer service skills
The ability to confidently deal with tradies, builders and the general public
Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
Strong attention to detail when quoting and processing orders
The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
A positive, reliable and hardworking attitude
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
A
forklift licence
and experience handling steel will be highly regarded but are not essential.
The Role
This is a
full-time position based at Trump Steel, Yatala
.
The role is varied, with a combination of sales, customer service and hands-on trade duties.
You won't be stuck behind a desk all day — you'll be dealing directly with customers, working alongside the warehouse team and getting involved in the day-to-day operation of a growing steel business.
