The opportunity
We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced individual
to lead a team in providing efficient and effective general
bushland maintenance and rehabilitation tasks in the City's
bushland, estuary, coastal and wetland areas.
Key responsibilities (not limited to)
Developing and maintaining a regular maintenance
schedule
Guiding the work of a small team in bushland maintenance
tasks including:
native species identification and pruning
tree planting, guarding and monitoring
assessment monitoring and mapping activities within
reserves
integrated weed control and identification
fence installation and repairs
general bushland, coastal, wetland rehabilitation
and maintenance
Providing on the job training to team members and
trainees
Maintaining required quality standards
Providing leadership to ensure safety standards are
maintained
Ensuring the proper operation and security of materials,
plant and equipment
To be successful in this role, you will
need:
Certificate IV in Conservation and Land
Management/Certificate IV in Conservation and Ecosystem
Management and/or Diploma in Conservation and Land
Management
Current unrestricted C class national driver's licence
Current White Card
Current Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traff
Controller Certificate
Previous experience supervising employees and conducting
practical staff training
Previous experience in a bushland conservation environment




including weed control and the safe handling and application of
weed spray chemicals
Experience in general bushland rehabilitation construction
and maintenance activities
Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and other
electronic devices

*The salary for this role commences at step 1, with
potential for movement within the range based on demonstrated
skills and experience.
Incremental progression typically occurs
at the conclusion of each 12-month period, in accordance with
the Industrial Agreement.
