Disability Support Workers
to join our growing team across the Perth metropolitan area.
We provide person-centred support to people living with disability, empowering them to achieve greater independence, choice, dignity, and community participation.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker with Sovereign Lives WA, you will provide high-quality support based on each participant's individual needs, goals, preferences, and support plans.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have
experience supporting participants with mental health and psychosocial disabilities
and demonstrate a
strong understanding of professional boundaries
within the disability support environment.

Thornlie
Brabham
Bennett Springs
Yanchep – Female Support Workers Only due to participant support needs/preferences
Key Responsibilities
Deliver person-centred support in accordance with individual support plans.
Assist participants with personal care, daily living activities, and household tasks.
Support community access, appointments, social participation, and recreational activities.
Promote participant independence, choice, dignity, privacy, and inclusion.
Maintain appropriate
professional boundaries
with participants and their families.
Implement behaviour support strategies and follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans where required.
Assist with medication in accordance with organisational procedures and individual support plans.
Complete accurate progress notes, incident reports, medication documentation, and other required records.
Identify and report incidents, risks, concerns, and changes in participant needs appropriately.
Communicate professionally with participants, families, allied health professionals, and internal teams.
Follow Sovereign Lives policies, NDIS Practice Standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
Attend required training, team meetings, and professional development activities.
About You
We are looking for candidates who:
Are caring, patient, respectful, and genuinely passionate about supporting people with disability.
Have experience working with
mental health or psychosocial disability
.
Have a
strong understanding of skilled boundaries
and their importance when working with vulnerable participants.
Understand the importance of confidentiality, dignity, choice, and participant rights.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Can remain calm and professional when responding to challenging situations.
Can work independently while contributing positively to a team.
Are reliable, flexible, and committed to providing consistent, high-quality support.
Are comfortable using smartphones and basic computer systems for documentation and reporting.
Essential Requirements
Successful candidates must have:
Current
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current
National Police Clearance
Working With Children Check
, where applicable
Current
First Aid & CPR Certificate
Valid
Australian Driver's Licence
Reliable and insured vehicle suitable for transporting participants
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or a related qualification
Current
Australian working rights
Candidates with demonstrated experience supporting participants with mental health or psychosocial disabilities and a strong understanding of professional boundaries will be highly regarded.
