About the role
We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide in-class assistance in the Senior School for students with specific special learning needs.
You will work collaboratively with teachers and other colleagues in supporting students to engage positively in their learning, develop independence and achieve their educational and wellbeing goals.
The successful candidate is able to build positive relationships with students, respond calmly and confidently to a range of learning and behavioural needs, and work flexibly as part of a collaborative team.
Key Selection Criteria:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience includes:
Certificate III in Education Support (as minimum or equivalent)
Demonstrated prior experience in providing student support
Creative and demonstrates initiative
Excellent ICT and administrative skills, competent literacy and numeracy skills




Current certification in Provide First Aid
Awareness of the Privacy Act
Experience providing support to Indigenous students would be an advantage.
To excel in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate initiative and the capacity for self-direction, while at the same time contributing to the output of the larger team.
You will be warm and caring with a nurturing disposition and have the ability to support students presenting with challenging behaviours in a compassionate, respectful and consistent manner.
A positive, enthusiastic team member with excellent organisational skills, you have the ability to set goals and prioritise work, and manage multiple, simultaneous tasks.
You have great interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a diverse range of students and parents, communicating confidently while ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
The following would also be advantageous:
Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Experience supporting students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Willingness to support students with personal care needs if required.
