About the role:
We are now commencing recruitment for a IT/OT Technologist the Bell Bay site, responsible for combining hands-on field services with operational technology liaison, and is the named IS half of the site pairing in the IT/OT working group.
This role will be required to understand the mill in production terms and represents site reality back into IS design decisions.
Presence at the mill is the core of the position and cannot be performed remotely.
The role delivers field services across the site, supports the boundary between the corporate network and the site control system workplace in cooperation with OT staff, and provides on-site capability for remote engineers and the cyber security function.
It does not take ownership of operational technology assets, which remain with site operations.
Reporting to the Infrastructure and Cyber Security Manager, this role is crucial to the ongoing success of the Bell Bay site.
With over 190 people on site,
this dual manufacturing plant operation is fast becoming one of the premiere sites not just in the Bell Bay precinct but in the Tamar Valley.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Delivers on-site field services including hardware installation and repair, structured cabling to the site cabling standard, mill floor devices, scanners, printing, wireless and associated site infrastructure.
Acts as the named Information Services member of the site IT/OT working group, participating in the shaping of site technical initiatives at concept stage.
Attends site maintenance meetings and shutdown planning, and coordinates IT works within shutdown windows.
Provides on-site support for remote engineers and the cyber security function, including installation of network and boundary devices during the network segmentation programme.
Assists in the selection of hardware, cabling and related site services in line with budget.
Maintains site spares and consumables at agreed levels and advises on lifecycle replacement of site infrastructure.
Secures all information assets in accordance with approved IS security standards.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
Certificate III or above in Information Technology, Networking, Electrotechnology or a similar technical discipline,
or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Practical field experience with hardware installation and repair, structured cabling and termination, and physical infrastructure work.
Sound networking fundamentals including TCP/IP addressing, switching, DHCP and DNS, and structured fault diagnosis.
Experience supporting Windows endpoints, mobile devices and Microsoft 365 in a business environment.
Experience working in an operating industrial, manufacturing or similar environment, with a demonstrated safety mindset.
