PosAbility Australia is seeking an educational consultant, teacher, tutor or clinician with a special interest in providing Literacy and/or Numeracy assessment and intervention for children with learning difficulties or other special needs.

PosAbility offers a range of quality educational and psychological services to pre-school and school aged children.Casual, part-time and full-time roles will be considered.
A clinical or educational leadership role may also be available for the right applicant.Primary Objective: To provide high-quality educational consultancy and intervention services to clients and families.
To work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to develop resources, services and programs to support children with learning difficulties and other special needs.The role offers;Opportunities to work collaboratively as a team to implement individual and group programs with our multidisciplinary team of therapists and special education consultantsOngoing mentoring and training in the implementation of evidence-based methods and programs to support children with learning difficulties, including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia,



ADHD and AutismThe opportunity to use your teaching skills to make a real difference to the lives of children with learning difficulties through individual and small group intervention programsThe opportunity to develop and run individual and group programsThe opportunity to follow passions and interests in developing new servicesWorking amongst a team of friendly and passionate therapists and teachers that share a common mission to support children in reaching their potentialSupport to attend professional development external to the clinicIn-house mentoring professional development programUndergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Education, Speech Pathology, Psychology or related fieldExperience and additional training or qualifications in providing Literacy and Numeracy intervention or learning support to children with learning difficultiesCurrent Working with Children CheckDemonstrated proficiency in oral and written language skillsStrong interpersonal skillsCommitment to professional developmentAvailable to work a minimum of three to four afternoons between ******pmProficient technology skillsThorough knowledge of assessment and evidence-based treatment of Specific Learning Disorders, including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and DyscalculiaPostgraduate degree in Special or Inclusive Education, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy or PsychologyRegistration as a teacher with the Institute of Teaching or with AHPRA as a Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist or PsychologistMaths or Numeracy experienceExperience in using standardised assessmentsProficient technology skillsExperience in delivering educational programs through online technology,



such as Microsoft TeamsExperience with Direct instruction programsThe Key Responsibilities of this role include:Develop and deliver literacy and numeracy intervention programs to children that are behind in their reading, spelling, writing and/or Mathematics skillsUse a range of evidence-based programs and methodsApply positive behavioural strategies to motivate, engage and manage students.Conduct and score a range of standardised and diagnostic one to one assessmentsCreate SMART goals for each student and regularly revise and evaluate theseMonitor client's progress through regular review of goals and standardised assessmentWrite placement and review reportsLiaise with parents to provide feedback regarding the students' progressAs required, liaise with other professionals and school staff working with each student to communicate goals and strategies of the programParticipate in training and ongoing professional developmentProvide administration support in the running of the clinic in relation to the onboarding of new clients and transition of clients to a new consultant or other serviceEnsure that positive and productive relationships exist between clinic, the local community, and familiesParticipate in regular professional development opportunities to keep up with current developments in the field of learning difficultiesEnsure compliance with our duty of care to clientsEnsure services meet quality service standards, and contract agreementsFor more information or to apply, please apply through Seek with your resume and a detailed cover letter addressing the essential and desirable criteria.
