Patient Services Officer
Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an exciting opportunity for a Patient Services Officer to join our patient service team. This is a casual role that will provide excellent career development and learning opportunities for the successful candidate.
Mater is Queensland’s largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals. Within this role you will work alongside a passionate team within in a multifaceted state-wide organisation to provide an essential service within the hospital.
About the role
The Patient Services Officer is required to work in a team environment and be responsible for the efficient, accurate and timely provision of a range of services, which may include switchboard, admissions, billing, discharges, filing within and retrieving of medical records and general enquiries, in accordance with the Hospital’s policies and procedures.
Within this role your principal accountabilities include:
- Admit and discharge patients, including collecting any monetary requirements and providing receipts
- Both checking and updating pre-admission information within the computer system
- Print and prepare paperwork for all admissions to the Hospital, including compiling the medical record.
- Ensure timely retrieval and preparation of medical records for patient admission.
- Ensure prompt and accurate filing of medical records by terminal digit filing.
