Senior Officer, Academic Services
Summary: Reporting to the Business Partner, the Senior Officer, Academic Services will contribute to the coordination of student lifecycle functions and workflows related to the broader Academic Services team.
- 1 full time ongoing position
- 1 full time fixed term (until 5 th Feb, 2024) position
- These roles are primarily within the Exams and Scheduling team.
- Campus independent - Can be based at La Trobe University’s Melbourne (Bundoora) or Victorian regional campuses.
- HEO5 TRP $83,398 - $93,398 inclusive of 17% superannuation
About the position
The incumbent will be responsible for working closely with peers and teams across the university to ensure a consistent approach to customer service delivery and consistent application of transactional activities and associated procedures. This includes the responsibility to work across large volume and high pressure activities, including scheduling the student timetable; administrating exams; academic progress, results and curriculum administration. The incumbent will be required to work across the student administration portfolio and be strongly engaged with the academic community and other divisions. The incumbent is expected to have solid interpersonal skills with a strong ethos around collaboration.
Student Administration staff are required to employ and maintain a professional, positive, and solution-orientated approach across all work practices and daily interactions. Intercampus travel will be required from time to time.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Demonstrated depth or breadth of expertise developed through extensive relevant experience and application.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop excellent working relationships with, colleagues, students and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established procedures with limited supervision and contribute positively to an effective team.
- High level proficiency in computer software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and the use of the internet as a research tool.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the work practices, processes and procedures relevant to the role, which may include broader sector awareness.
