Lauriston Girls’ main campus is based in the inner Melbourne suburb of Armadale and caters for students from 3-year-old Kindergarten to Year 12, offering both VCE and IB pathways. Lauriston has a second, residential campus named 'Howqua' located near the Victorian country town of Mansfield, which provides a well-established and unique experiential program for students in Year 9.
The Deputy Principal - Learning and innovation is a current position, with a focus on engaging and supporting our staff to deliver our School’s strategic vision for learning and teaching.
Reporting to the Principal, the successful candidate will lead innovation and research-based initiatives in line with our School’s strategic direction, and provide leadership related to curriculum, teaching, learning, assessment and reporting that is informed by best practice and maximises student outcomes.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated:
- ability to provide dynamic and proactive educational leadership and management
- depth and breadth of knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues in education and their implications for continuous school improvement
- ability to work with parents,
teachers and students in a diverse community to develop a learning environment that fosters critical thinking, creativity and excellence
- strategic thinking capabilities and effectiveness, translating ideas and concepts into action, analysing complex situations and engaging proactively with others to enable change and improvement
- authenticity and strong personal presence, poise and natural capacity to inspire students, staff and the wider community.
Commencing in January 2025 (or shortly thereafter upon negotiation), this role is offered as a 5-year contract and attracts a 0.2 FTE teaching allotment (subjects / classes negotiable). The successful candidate must have a right to work in Australia and be VIT registered.
