InnerWest Area Mental Health Service (IWAMHS) has comprehensive, specialist and integrated range of services to people with a serious mental illness in the inner west part of Melbourne, including parts of the CBD. We have a multi-disciplinary workforce of 500+ staff providing mental health care across acute Inpatient Units, the RMH Emergency Department, Consultation-Liaison at RMH, mental health rehabilitation services (CCU/PARC) and Community programs. These two specialist programs are also based with IWAMHS at RMH – Melbourne NeuroPsychiatry Centre and Eating Disorder Program.

Your new role:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital has multiple opportunities available for Consultant Psychiatrists to join our vibrant teams as part of the expansion of our mental health program with the Royal Commission roll-out. We are seeking team-oriented and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrists to join our multidisciplinary setting and be a part of brilliant team culture, all working with a genuine passion for clinical excellence and optimum patient care.

The current opportunity of 1.2 EFT is available on our inpatient Unit (John Cade Unit) as an exciting new ward that is being build on the RMH site with an innovative and codesigned model of care for a MDT.

EFT can be negotiated depending on your preference and what EFT is needed on the team. There will be further opportunities become available over 2023 due to further Royal Commission funding roll-outs, plus opportunities in our other teams also become available, depending on our current Consultants’ preferences.
