Position Summary
- Part time fixed term role
- Austin Hospital, 145 Studley Road Heidelberg
- $78,353.60 base + salary packaging + super (pro-rata for part time)

About the Office for Research
The Office for Research (OfR) is moving to a model that provides holistic ethics, integrity and biosafety advice, support and service to researchers and our research partners. To deliver on the strategic plan, the OfR has created a Research Integrity function within the office. This arm of the OfR will provide a program of training and development for Researchers, Ethics Committee Members, and Divisional Teams and Departments to ensure research is embedded in the fabric of the hospital.
About the role
A regular day will see you:
- Manage ethics and site-specific authorization of current projects, amendments & post-approval items
- Manage review and sign-off of Research Agreements
- Provide advice pertaining to research ethics, research governance and research agreement matters
- Prepare and present research training and one on one consultation with researchers
- To manage Ethics Committees, as required, including preparing of documents, agendas, providing advice based on relevant guidelines and legislation and taking minutes at the meeting
- Assist in reporting KPIs and preparing institutional reports.
About you
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:
1. Bachelor’s degree or post-graduation degree in Biomedical Science. Candidates with a PhD and/or research experience are encouraged to apply
2. Experience in the interpretation and application of human and animal guidelines and legislation
3. Experience in the review and interpretation of research projects and research agreements
4. Experience in preparing and managing research projects, including design, tracking and post-approval requirements (such as safety, annual and final reports)
5. Demonstrated skills and experience, including timely, efficient and effective minute-taking and record- keeping.
6.
Track record in customer service including excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven time management skills.
