Job Description
As a Facilities Handyperson based in Perth Airport, you will assist with the maintenance of facilities in the Western Australia Metro area in line with the strategic direction set by the Managing Director and the AU Operations Council.
Some other responsibilities will be:
- To ensure that SGS facilities operates at the highest possible technical standards and that the utilisation of each function is optimised and reflects the business opportunities in the country.
- Undertaking general repairs throughout the Facility i.e. patching, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and preventative maintenance, etc to ensure upkeep of facility.
- Booking contractors.
- Seeking repair quotations.
- Gardening duties such as mowing, fertilising, planting, pruning, edging, reticulation maintenance, and weed control.
- Moving or relocating furniture, tools, equipment, stationery etc. as required or directed.
- Ensuring all bins are emptied daily and cleaned and disinfected as required.
- Keeping Facility grounds clean and free from rubbish and other debris.
- Cleaning external surfaces of buildings as required.
- Liaising with the Facilities Manager on requirements for tools and equipment and/or supplies to maintain stock.
- Providing all pre-start and operational checks on all equipment in the area of responsibility.
Qualifications
- Solid working experience in a similar role.
- Flexible working hours to suit requirements of projects
- Amazing customer service and positive attitude
- Able to talk and communicate to clients in a professional manner
- Reliable, and positive time management
- Must be able to work alone and as part of a team (task dependent)
- Ability to problem solve on the job.
- Previous experience using hand tools such as drills, hammers etc
- Welding experience (not essential)
- Be physically fit as the role requires climbing ladders and is physically demanding.
