Why this role matters:
The Project Officer will work in Professor Jill Bennett’s Australian Research Council Laureate team, located in the Big Anxiety Research Centre at UNSW Art, Design and Architecture, at the Paddington Campus.
The Felt Experience & Empathy Lab fEEL Lab supports an exciting recent transdisciplinary approach to the study of subjectivity with a focus on lived experiences of trauma, ageing, neurodiversity, and mental health. The Laureate team spans psychology/social science, art/design, immersive media and data visualisation.
Accountabilities:
- Project Management: coordinate and manage project tasks of the Lab/research program.
- Office Support: coordinate and manage day to day administrative tasks of the Lab/research program.
- Event organisation, including seminars, conferences, festivals.
- Grant writing/reporting: assist with grant development and preparation of relevant documents and reports.
- Assist with production of multimedia projects/exhibitions.
- Understand finance systems and appropriate record keeping
- Website and comms management
- Stakeholder engagement: establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.
Skills and Experience:
To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
- Proven skills and experience in project management (certification desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multidisciplinary creative team and with stakeholders with lived experience of ageing, neurodiversity, mental health.
- Superior skills in content and grant writing.
- Proven skills and experience in office administration including office suite, basic design programs, data management.
- Proven skills and experience in event and conference organisation.
- Experience gained through personal experience of mental health, illness, disability, forms of marginalisation/discrimination/adversity, are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated interest in the arts and /or arts and health.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
