About the role
John Fawkner Private Hospital is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative Unit on full time basis. Permanent part time opportunities will also be considered. We are seeking nurses with experience across Scrub/Scout, Recovery, Day Services and Anaesthetics.
John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. With 186 registered beds, an emergency department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed Critical Care Complex and a busy day surgery/endoscopy unit the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community.
The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.
Key responsibilities as a Registered Nurse will include:
Deliver evidence based nursing care
Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
Ensure patient and staff safety
Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs)
to deliver patient care
Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recover
Essential Criteria:
Current Registration with AHPRA
Minimum 2 years’ anaesthetic/PARU experience essential
Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)
Working with Children check
Commitment to Quality Patient Care
Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Works well independently and within a team
Basic computer skills.

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Victoria - Nurses' and Midwives' Agreement 2021-2025" (salaries range between $34.56 and $46.22 per hour).
