About the Opportunity

Menzies Health Institute Queensland is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Fellow to join our team. As a Research Fellow, you will be responsible for assisting in research, data collection and analysis, writing, and coordinating of ethics, papers, grants, and policy submissions. You will also contribute to other applied health economics initiatives within the Institute.

A major focus of the position will be to actively contribute to consolidation and further development of health services research within the CAHE with an initial primary focus on prostate cancer. Contribute to other health economics initiatives within the MHIQ and CAHE are also expected.

This is a full time, fixed term (3 years) position based at the Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations

Salary Range

The base salary for a Research Fellow Grade 1 position is in the range $82,359 - $96,473 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $96,360 - $112,873 per annum.

Qualifications

About You





The successful candidate will hold a PhD in health economics or a related field such as health data analytics.

In collaboration with other researchers, you will prepare and submit applications for competitive funding to a wide range of funding bodies, including to nationally competitive schemes such as the ARC, NHMRC and industry partners such as pharmaceutical companies.

In addition, you will contribute to the preparation and submission of ethics applications, research reports and to the preparation and submission of papers for publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

Further, as the successful candidate you will be able to prove your ability to liaise, facilitate and organise MHIQ research work and agenda to support the development of the current research projects, emerging research activities and the progressive development of the Institute’s research office.
