About St Luke’s
St Luke's Grammar School is an Independent, Anglican, co-educational school, with two Campuses on Sydney's Northern Beaches. One Campus is located in Dee Why (Pre-K to Year 12), and a second Campus is located in Bayview (Pre-K to Year 6). St Luke’s has built a reputation as a premier co-educational independent school that achieves outstanding academic and pastoral outcomes for students.
St Luke’s employs over 150 full-time and part-time teachers, supported by teachers’ aides, administrative staff, grounds staff and peripatetic tutors. The School currently has close to over 1500 students across our two campuses with approximately 1200 students at our Dee Why Campus and 250 students at the Bayview Campus.

St Luke’s Grammar School is one of eighteen schools that are part of the Anglican Schools Corporation (ASC) network of schools. The ASC works closely with the Principal and School Council to ensure wise oversight and governance of the School and provide support with core services including finance, IT, Compliance and Human Resources.
About the Role
St Luke’s Grammar School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and professional Teacher’s Aide who is suitably qualified and enjoys working in a collaborative team.
The Teacher’s Aide supports classroom teachers to implement both explicit instruction and inquiry based learning. This position also helps to support children to participate as fully as possible in learning programs while helping them to improve and develop in all areas.
The Teacher’s Aide provides both general and teaching support to the classroom teacher. Teacher’s Aides have a strong commitment to and understanding of duty of care, participate actively in the life of the School community, and are committed to ongoing individual and collaborative professional development.
The successful applicant will be willing to contribute to the co-curricular life of the School and ideally be a Christian and actively involved in their church.
Position: Teacher’s Aide Cottage (Pre-K) - Junior School
Location: Bayview Campus
Load: 3 days a Week (Wednesday - Friday)
Level: Pre-K (Cottage)
Commencement: Term 1 2025
Reporting to: Head of Junior School, Bayview Campus

Reporting Relationships
- TAs report to the Head of Junior School. They work closely with the Assistant Head of Junior School, classroom teachers, specialist staff and other TAs.
Key Roles / Duties / Responsibilities
- Assist class teachers by working with individual students or small groups to implement learning activities
- Assist class teachers in implementing differentiated learning activities or aspects of a student’s individual program
- Assist class teachers in implementing individual learning plans
- Assist class teachers with monitoring and evaluating students’ individual education progress
- Assist with the creation of modified literacy and numeracy activities
- Organise and collate educational resources
- Assist young children with hygiene practices including in some cases, toileting and changing clothes
- Assist with the creation of classroom displays
- Assist in the supervision of students while in the playground
- Reinforce appropriate behaviours in the classroom by helping to create a positive learning environment
- Undertake general classroom administration tasks, including filing, typing, photocopying, laminating and any other classroom needs
- Undertake housekeeping tasks, including cleaning up after art and other activities and general clean-up of the classroom
- Accompany and supervise students going to other areas of the school for lessons and activities
- Actively develop an understanding of the LEARNING@STLUKE’S Framework
- Work collaboratively as a member of a team
- Attendance at staff meetings, Chapel and other School events, when required and as directed
- Involvement in School activities and relevant functions such as Class Information Evenings
Undertake any other duties as requested by the Principal

Licenses/Certificates/Qualifications
- Valid Working with Children Check required
- CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and/or
- CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support and/or
- CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
May suit a student training to be a teacher or a recent graduate
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Strong physical, mental and emotional health to deal with the required demands and responsibilities of the role.
