About the role

We are seeking a motivated and engaged Maintenance Manager responsible for ensuring that vehicle and plant standards result in a protected and fit-for-purpose fleet and that total costs are optimised over the life of the fleet assets.

This senior role will support the company strategic and operational objectives through delivery of optimal commercial outcomes, it is integral to the construction, maintenance and warehousing functions within the business and involves a close working relationship with the Construction Manager and Resource Allocations Manager.

Core responsibilities include but are not limited to;

- Scheduling & co-ordinating Plant & Fleet maintenance
- Dealer Management
- Asset Sourcing / Procurement
- Workshop expenditure budgeting/control
- Upkeep of maintenance records
- Workshop / Site WHS/Environmental Compliance
- Managing team of plant and heavy commercial vehicle mechanics and sub-contractors
- Overseeing the supervision of Apprentices

About you

A Certificate of Proficiency as a plant mechanic with at least 10 years of diverse experience at the trade level is essential to the position,



as is a sound knowledge and understanding of earthmoving plant, heavy vehicles and associated equipment including small pieces of plant and motor vehicles.

What you bring

- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Heavy Plant Mechanic (civil construction).
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager in the Civil Construction Industry.
- Strong planning and organisational skills and highly effective communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively plan, multi-task, and prioritise several conflicting priorities.
- A high level of business and commercial acumen.
- A strong focus on safety and reinforcing safety expectations across the team.
- Whilst not essential, possessing an HR license would be a distinct advantage, as would forklift/crane license.
