About your opportunity

The Mental Health Service Group are currently seeking to recruit an Advanced Health Worker (Identified) to their team on a permanent full-time basis.

Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander to work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

As a member of the Cultural Assessment & Liaison Team (CALT), Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs you will participate in and contribute to the delivery of a culturally sensitive and appropriate care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth who access the Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Service.

Generous remuneration package value up to $93,498 p.a. comprising:

- Salary range of $2959.80 to $3141.00 p.f. (HW5)
- 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

- It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991,



there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander to work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
- Possession of a Diploma in either: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, Mental Health Peer WOrk, Mental Health or Alcohol and Other Drugs.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- 3-month probation period.
- All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other area's of the service.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.

NOTE: the successful applicant who does not hold the Diploma qualification will be appointed at the HW4 level for a fixed term, subject to engaging and participating in a learning agreement to obtain the required qualification with support under HR Policy G10 Study and Research Assistance Scheme (SARAS). Upon completion of your qualification, you will be progressed to HW5.
