Exciting opportunity to work as an Assistant in Midwifery as part of a dynamic Midwifery team.

About the role

The Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Assistant in Midwifery, with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care, to join our Maternity Ward on a casual basis.

Key Responsibilities

Assist nurses or hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties

Work as part of the health care team; practice in accordance with state legislation and within the designated scope of practice

Answering patient/visitor/customer enquiries

Essential Criteria:





Successful completion of Year 1 and Semester 1 Year 2 of Bachelor of Midwifery

Current enrolment and ongoing progress in the Bachelor of Midwifery course with a satisfactory academic record maintained.

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent ability to plan and prioritise work

Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Flexibility to manage shift work (including, day & night shifts) over 7 days

Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Workplace Health and Safety, and the impact on employment and service delivery.

Post graduate qualifications (or similar) related to neonatal care
