About the role
Mater Clarence Street currently has an opportunity available for an experienced Clinical Nurse to provide clinical, alcohol and other drug nursing care. The position will be offered on a permanent, full-time basis for the THREAD (Extended Therapeutic Residential Program).
Mater Clarence Street is a high quality, multidisciplinary youth alcohol and drug treatment service. As a member of an enthusiastic and motivated team this position will aim to minimise the harmful effects of substance use to vulnerable young people.
Salary range: $49.88 - $53.43 (RN 2) per hour plus superannuation + salary packaging access up to $15,900
What you’ll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide high level primary health interventions, withdrawal management,
and effective assessment and treatment strategies for young people who present with complex problematic substance use.
Your role will also include providing supervision to multidisciplinary staff as required and engage in clinically relevant intersectoral collaboration.
About you
To be successful in your application you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge, expertise and skill in the principles and practice of harm minimisation orientated treatment, case management and prevention approaches applicable to young people within a Drug and Alcohol context.
- Ability to provide general clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities.
- Previous leadership experience including the ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives and to provide supervision, consultation, and education to less experienced staff and students.
- Willingness to role model and promote the Mater values.
Those applicants with relevant post-graduate qualifications and/or clinical experience in relevant fields of Alcohol and Other Drugs, Primary Health, Mental Health or working with Young People will be highly regarded.
