About the Role

This clinical psychology role attached to our Maternity Services provides a unique opportunity to provide evidence based, clinical psychology services to inpatient and antenatal outpatients.

This role would suit an experienced/Senior Clinical Psychologist who has prior perinatal experience and is enthusiastic about providing expertise in psychological assessment, formulation and treatment in public maternity services based at Angliss Hospital and Box Hill Hospital.

Collegial support, structured individual and group supervision and ongoing career development are highly valued by Eastern Health to ensure that you are well supported in your clinical role, are providing exceptional patient care and feel able to contribute to the broader psychology service.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic,



energetic and skilled Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about public health to fill this busy role within Maternity Services providing specialist mental health support and brief psychological interventions to women prior to birth.

To be successful in this role you will require:

- A Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology that has been approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Minimum five years’ clinical experience post qualification.
- Current full registration with the Psychology Board or Australia.
- Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Approved Supervisor Status with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and to formulate and implement appropriate evidence based interventions that are consistent with best practice in clinical psychology.
- Have a good understanding of perinatal specific issues affecting this population from a biopsychosocial perspective.
- Prior experience in a perinatal setting.
- Proven ability and commitment to work collaboratively with patients, significant carers, members of the multidisciplinary team and external agencies.
- Effective interpersonal skills, particularly in communication, leadership and conflict management, in order to facilitate team functioning.
