The Coach and Peer Facilitator position is a full-time permanent position which is subject to ongoing funding. The position attracts a salary package of $78,500 p.a., plus super and salary packaging, 5 weeks annual leave and two wellness days per annum.

Carers WA is the peak body representing the needs and interests of carers in Western Australia and is part of a national network of Carers Associations providing a range of support services, supporting Carers across Western Australia. About the Role:
The Coach and Peer Facilitator is responsible for providing one-to-one coaching to carers and organising and facilitating peer support groups, both in-line with Carer Gateway Carer Coaching and In-Person Peer Support (IPPS) guidelines. The Carer Gateway is an Australian Government initiative funded by the Department of Social Services providing a mix of free online, telephone and in-person supports, services and advice, for carers in Australia. These services have been specifically designed and tested by carers to help reduce stress and build resilience in the caring role.
The IPPS program provides an opportunity for carers to meet and share their experiences, learn from one another, and develop networks to help support and connect with others in the carer community. The IPPS is based on four service delivery modules: Connection, Finding Community, Making Meaning of Now and Finding Purpose.
The Carer Coaching program provides an opportunity for one-to-one coaching sessions with carers to empower them to take steps towards making positive changes and offering a reflective space to build resilience and capacity.
The position is responsible for organising, facilitating, and promoting time limited Coaching and IPPS groups that are carer led and carer driven. This position is part of the growing Carer and Peer Capacity Building team, incorporating Individual Advocacy Support, Aboriginal Engagement Officers as well as Learning and Development who work with, and support carers to identify their goals and ensure an appropriate support plan is prepared and implemented. Flexibility in the position is also required, balancing outreach work,
group work as well as phone and digital support for carers in the community.
Essential Selection Criteria:
1. Experience with group facilitation skills and/or delivering information to groups of stakeholders.
2. A relevant qualification (Cert IV Community Services, Diploma Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work) and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Community Services sector.
3. Knowledge of “Coaching” methodology and implementation.
4. Experience in the NGO and/or healthcare sectors with direct supports to clients.
5. Knowledge of community care and health systems and other programs relevant to carers.
6. Demonstrated understanding around working with Aboriginal, CALD and LGBTIQ individuals and communities.
7. High level of competency using computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, and/or customised client databases, as well as virtual communication modes (phone, skype, Zoom).
8. Willingness to work flexibly including active participation in change management.
9. Current C class Drivers Licence.
