Are you a highly motivated Counsellor looking for a recent and exciting position?

The Sydney Clinic is seeking an experienced Counsellor to join our Mental Health Team on a flexible casual basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team working closely with our Registered Nurses ensuring a high level of patient care.

As a Counsellor your responsibilities will include:

Demonstrates knowledge, skills, judgement and care in the effective delivery of counselling services for adults presenting with a range of psychiatric disorders

Provides individual, group and telephone based counselling services

Maximises the efficacy of clinical services through the development of productive and professional relationships with Psychiatrists, General Practitioners and other referral sources

Provides input into the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programs ensuring that they are current and congruent with patient needs.

Demonstrates awareness of admission and discharge criteria for therapeutic programs as directed by Health Funds and associated bodies and complies with the completion of relevant documentation

Essential Criteria:

Relevant degree qualifications

Current full registration with Counselling Governing Bodies

Experience facilitating group therapy sessions

Sound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Superior time management and organisational skills

Exceptional customer service skills
