Permanent Full-time Occupational Therapist

Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health Team. This is a permanent full-time position, playing an important role in delivering care through our acute Hospital and rehabilitation services.

About the role

As an Occupational Therapist within the Allied Health Department you will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver Occupational Therapy services to patients of Mater. You will contribute to the service development and overall operation of the Allied Health department with deployment across Pimlico and Hyde Park sites including acute inpatients, our rehabilitation programs (both inpatient and day services), and Cardiac Rehabilitation. Acute wards of the Mater Private Hospital Townsville include ICU, the Cardiothoracic Unit, Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedic, Renal and Mater Mothers.

Within this role your principal accountabilities include:

- Deliver therapy services in accordance with the AHPRA Professional Standards including the Occupational Therapy Code of Professional Conduct.
- Apply independent professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care within the specialist area/s, engaging in cross-discipline consultation and collaboration where relevant.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions to provide holistic care
- Participate and contribute to regular department in services and education
- Depending on your level of experience senior supervision and support is available from the Senior Occupational Therapists, Team leaders within the Allied Health Department and the Allied Health Manager

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Current registration as a Registered Occupational Therapist with AHPRA

• Experience working within a hospital environment (desirable) but not essential
