Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is a not-for-profit health care organisation based in Wagga Wagga, the largest inland city in rural New South Wales, and we are committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our communities and the region we support. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Primary Care Engagement and Development Lead to join our team.
The Primary Care Engagement and Development Lead role is a permanent full time role responsible for leading and developing a team focused on enhancing primary care capacity and capabilities. This includes primary care support, quality improvement, workforce development, and continuing professional development (CPD) activities. As a key member of our organisation, you will provide leadership and guidance on primary care engagement strategies, while also managing a small portfolio of general practices.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management: Lead and support the Primary Care Engagement Officers to ensure effective general practice engagement and promote quality improvement and integrated care.
National Health Reform Initiatives: Work with Primary Care Engagement Officers to facilitate the adoption of national health reforms across the organisation.
Practice Engagement: Provide direct engagement and support to a small group of allocated general practices.
Workforce Development Oversight: Collaborate with the Workforce Prioritisation Program Manager to ensure all reporting and deliverables are met.
CPD Program Oversight: Work with the CPD Coordinator to ensure effective management and delivery of CPD programs for primary care providers.
Collaboration & Networking: Partner with the Primary Care Clinical Programs and Emergency Response Manager to support professional development, capacity building, and peer networking for practice managers and nurses.
Stakeholder Representation & Committee Participation: Represent the organisation in meetings and committees, providing strategic and operational insights. Actively participate in Local Health Advisory Committee meetings and other relevant clinical councils.
Reporting: Prepare and provide detailed reports and correspondence as required, contributing to internal publications.
Travel: Attend scheduled meetings and conferences, including occasional overnight travel to other regions.
Key Criteria - About You
- Tertiary level qualification in a health-related field or equivalent experience working in a primary healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in primary healthcare, including a sound understanding of national health reforms.
- Proven ability to lead and empower a team to achieve organisational goals.
- Strong experience in stakeholder relationship management, with the ability to identify and respond to client needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team,
ensuring high-quality program outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlookand customer relationship management systems.
