About the Role

The purpose of this role is to deliver senior psychology services within the outpatient Physiotherapy Musculoskeletal Management Clinic (PMMC)/Conservative Management Service (CMS) and possibly support/consultation to some medical inpatient services .

This includes:

- Delivering high quality evidenced based psychology clinical services to patients/consumers within a highly functioning multidisciplinary team.
- Contribution to the advancement of quality psychology services and optimal patient care, through provision of service development, quality improvement, and clinical education.
- Monitoring and reporting on work practices and outcomes, including initiating, planning and evaluating relevant quality and research initiatives

The Psychology Department was established in early 2021 and is an emerging specialist service within the Redlands Hospital and Community Health Services. Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Neuropsychologists are currently providing services to several specialist Outpatient clinics (Physiotherapy outpatients; Paediatric Diabetes)



and select inpatient acute and general medical wards where possible.

The Psychology Department aims to optimise and improve patient and service outcomes by contributing to efficient and cost-effective healthcare using contemporary hospital and medical/health psychology interventions; enhancing patient engagement with medical and rehabilitation services; improving patient and carer quality of life and their experience of healthcare systems whilst fostering resilience, coping and adjustment, effective self-management and engagement with external services as needed including optimising complex discharge planning where possible.
