Ringwood Private Hospital is seeking experienced oncology-trained Registered Nurses to join our Day Therapy Unit, Thompson on a casual, part time or full time basis.
Our Day Therapy Unit is seeking a compassionate and skilled registered nurse with experience in oncology/haematology or other highly skilled specialist backgrounds looking to transition into the field of cancer care. As a Chemotherapy Nurse, you will be responsible for the administration of chemotherapy/immunotherapy and supportive treatments, educating patients on self-care and the effective strategies for management of side effects.
The successful candidates will have sound clinical skills, an interest in cancer care and enjoy interacting with patients and their families in our Day Therapy Unit. There will also be opportunities to progress to CNS and pathways to ANUM.
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope Victoria Nurses & Midwives’ Enterprise Agreement 2021- 2025- a salary ranging from $36.38- $46.22/ hour
As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:
Provide evidenced based nursing care including a comprehensive assessment of patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy as well as other infusions for conditions such as Crohn’s and MS.
Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
Ensure patient and staff safety
Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs

Essential Criteria:
Current Registration with AHPRA
Working with Children check
Ideally 3 years of nursing experience with some understanding of oncology and haematology nursing care.
Ideally experience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or related cancer treatments
Competency in PICC, PORT, IV Cannulation and phlebotomy skills or working towards
ADAC qualification, CVAD management experience and high level computer literacy
Commitment to Quality Patient Care
Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Works well independently and within a team
Basic computer skills
