About your opportunity:
The Health and Wellbeing Service Group is currently seeking to recruit a Registrar / Principal House Officer to their Paediatrics Department on a fixed term temporary full-time basis, commencing 03/07/2023 to 05/02/2024 with the possibility of extension, not exceeding 12 months.
The primary function of the position is the provision of high-quality clinical care to patients requiring paediatric services in THHS. Inpatient Paediatric Trainee/PHO position provides broad general paediatric experience with an emphasis on acute paediatrics, infectious diseases and indigenous health. The trainee/PHO will work with RMO staff and co-ordinate day to day assessment and management of paediatric inpatients and outpatients, attending acute and elective admissions under the supervision of an Advanced Training Registrar and a Paediatrician.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Clinical skills and knowledge at a level of the position.
- Leadership, teamwork, problem solving and conflict management skills.
- Culturally appropriate verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide supervision for junior medical staff.
- Professional and ethical behaviour in clinical and training environment.
- Commence work immediately.
Remuneration package of up to $177,064 p.a. (+ other applicable allowances/advantages), comprising salary range of $4540.00 - $5236.00 p.f. (L4 - L9), recreational leave loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, professional development assistance (leave and vocational training subsidy), and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable).
Requirements:
- It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Degree Qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution and hold Current Registration as a medical practitioner or eligible for Current Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
