About your opportunity

Permanent full-time 76 hours p.f. The Senior Mental Health Clinician Position at Youth Peoples Early Intervention Team, will provide collaborative system based care to young people with Early Psychosis. This position will deliver high level clinical mental health services as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to optimise emotional health, occupational and psychosocial outcomes for adolescents, young people, their families and carers. This position is a permanent full time appointment into the Mental Health Service Group.

Generous remuneration package value up to $141,250 p.a. comprising:

- Salary range of $115,049 to $123,799 p.a. (HP4)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

The successful candidate will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following

- Demonstrated skills and experience relevant to early intervention in psychosis.




- Demonstrated ability in working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and/or other Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, monitor and evaluate service unit initiatives and provide a high level of clinical supervision and advice to unit and service managers within this specialised area of practice (Early Psychosis)

Requirements

- It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
- For Occupational Therapy: the successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy. Registration with the Occupational Therapist Board Australia (AHPRA) is required.
- For Psychology: the successful applicant must possess a four-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution. General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia is required. Possession of a Master or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited tertiary institution, or significant progress towards this, would be highly regarded.
- For Social Work: the successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent)



qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Social Work as well as eligibility for full membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). While not mandatory, status as an AASW accredited Mental Health Social Worker is highly regarded.
- Proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable. If not AMHP – then willingness to undertake and complete the requirements for appointment.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- 6 month probation period.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
