We are seeking an experienced Chef for work at sea in northern Australia, rotating via Darwin.
Darwin locals preferred.
Depth serves Defence and government supply chains and provides all normal freight services for import and export of cargo by air or sea.
It is an exciting time to join our business as we continue along our journey of ongoing expansion and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work a 4-week on, 4 week off rotational schedule (approximate, dependant on vessel's schedule)
- Plan and prepare three meals per day for up to 50 crew and passengers
- Galley management and cleaning
- Manage stock inventory and procurement, ensuring efficient consumption and resupply of victuals
- Undertake interstate and intrastate travel as needed for crew change purposes
- Operate autonomously throughout assigned rotations
- Daily reporting to Depth management
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/traits:
Ability to work alone under pressure in quick-paced and remote environments
-Excellent culinary skills with a focus on quality and variety in meal preparation
-Strong organisational abilities, including meticulous attention to stock management
-Effective communication skills to collaborate with crew members, suppliers, and management
-Possess relevant formal qualifications
-Australian citizenship or full working rights in Australia
-Willing to undergo police and other relevant security checks as required prior to employment
-A Defence Force background would be highly regarded but is not essential
Pay will be commensurate with experience and there is a performance-linked quarterly bonus available for all team members.
