Willing Brothers is an intimate neighbourhood wine bar which seats a maximum of 28 guests. We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and creative chef who is motivated to work in a vibrant space, run their own kitchen and create their own menus.

Our small open kitchen is located behind the bar and operated by one chef, who shares the space with our FOH team. Our menu is simple and seasonal, currently featuring a rotating selection of hand-made snacks, pizza and pasta.

We are looking for a candidate with a friendly disposition, who can interact with our guests and maintain a really positive and respectful working relationship with their colleagues. We want everyone in the venue to have a good time, and we believe this starts with a good energy from our team.

It is a small space, so working efficiently and keeping the space clean and organised is extremely important. As is the ability to remain calm when under pressure.

Candidates will be expected to work 38 hours over 4 days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This will include prep, lunch and dinner service.

Main responsibilities and duties include:

- Maximise profitability while ensuring product quality and consistency.
- Control food costs without compromising standards.
- Ensuring efficient and professional kitchen operation.




- Assist in the development and costing of menus that utilise local seasonal produce, fulfil customer demand and follow industry trends.
- Design menus with dietary restrictions in mind and be ready and willing to cater for guests intolerances and allergies.
- Ensure all orders are placed with the appropriate vendors on time.
- Forecast and control stock and costs effectively.
- Ensure meals are produced in good time.
- Handling portion control, ensuring consistency and on trend presentation.
- Ensure proper hygienic storage methods are utilised to prevent food loss.
- Maintain a clean working space to an extremely high standard, this includes washing up.
- Encourage protected working practices.
- Sustain good working relationships with colleagues.
- Maintain positive communication with FOH during service.
- Maintain a calm attitude under pressure.
- Treat owners, colleagues and guests with courtesy and respect.
- Actively seek ways to improve organisation and operation.
- Promote a culture were ideas and positive changes are welcome and implemented.
- Completion of monthly stock take
- Carry out any reasonable duties as specified by the business owners.
- Attend regular meetings and performance reviews with business owners.
