The Italian Place Enoteca

The Italian Pace Enoteca is looking for a Sous Chef to join our team. Experience in a similar role with Italian cuisine is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right applicant who's ready to step up into this position. You'll be working a mix of day and night shifts, so weekend availability and flexibility with rostering are essential. However, we do promote a flexible working environment. No breakfast shifts and not too many late nights.

- Located: Mort St, Braddon
- Food type: Modern Italian, local seasonal menu, specials changing each week
- Vibe: casual fine dining in a laid-back environment, Italian rustic ambiance
- Capacity: 40-60pax – no double seating's
- Opening time: Dinner - Monday to Saturday; Lunch - Tuesday to Saturday

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking a friendly and hard working Sous Chef with experience in a rapid paced restaurant scene, who will:

- Deliver high-quality dishes with exceptional preparation, production, and presentation.




- Is passionate about the Canberra food and beverage scene.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all menu items.
- Work independently while contributing to team goals.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to mentor and train junior kitchen staff.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization, adhering to the highest standards.
- Support the Executive Chef in menu creation, food production, and portion control.
- Contribute to stock control, rotation, and accurate recording of deliveries.
- Assist in budgeting, planning, and margin reviews.
- Promote positive relationships with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent guest experiences.
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) and Food Safety regulations.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and safe operation of all kitchen equipment.
