About the role

The infusion service works within the day oncology unit, Level 7, Ipswich Hospital. It is a 4-chair service that operates 7 days a fortnight, with the CN working every Monday to order blood products and to liaise with MO's in appointment booking and triaging. It currently supports patients who require blood products and immunoglobulins, MAB's for rheumatoid arthritis and renal conditions, iron infusions and other supportive therapies. It is supported and triaged by the medical team.

The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies). This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to outpatients within a 4-seat infusion setting.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in the area of Oncology and supportive therapies, delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
- Demonstrated advanced level clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills, and an advanced knowledge in infusion treatments, reaction management and treatment protocols.




- A post graduate qualification or currently enrolled in a post graduate program in a relevant area of study is desirable but not essential.
