Job Title: Temporary HR Coordinator
Location: Melbourne, Victoria
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing HR support and assistance to the department, including recruitment and selection, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and HR policy implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the recruitment and selection process, including posting job vacancies, screening applications, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and issuing employment offers
- Assist with the onboarding process, including coordinating induction programs, preparing employment contracts, and ensuring new employees complete all necessary paperwork and training
- Support the performance management process, including monitoring probationary periods, coordinating performance appraisals, and assisting managers with addressing performance issues
- Assist with employee relations matters, including providing advice and support to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures, and investigating and resolving employee grievances
- Assist with the implementation of HR policies and procedures, including reviewing and updating HR documents and templates, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline
- Previous experience in an HR Coordinator or similar role, preferably within the public sector
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR policies and procedures, recruitment and selection processes, performance management, and employee relations
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- High level of attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HR information systems
This is a temporary full-time position for a period of up to 6 months.
