Human Resources Manager for a not-for-profit organisation based in Cairns.

Your new company

An organisation built on providing culturally appropriate and family centred health care, this not-for-profit organisation services 11 Cape York communities, five communities in the Northern Peninsula Area and one in the Torres Strait. Due to an opening in the HR team, Hays are pleased to partner with this fantastic organisation and are now seeking an HR Manager to lead the team of HR professionals.

Your new role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Office, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of Human Resources Services across the organisation and supporting the development and implementation of workforce strategies.

Your duties will include:

- Support the implementation of a Workforce Strategy that effectively aligns with the strategic direction of the organisation.
- Support Management to identify, develop and implement solutions across a range of human resource functions
- Lead the development of the Human Resources Team to deliver against the organisation's operational plans
- Develop and implement human resource management systems, procedures and reporting frameworks
- Liaise with the Learning and Development team to ensure integration with Workforce Development and Human Resources plans.
- Work with Managers to ensure effective implementation of Human Resource initiatives and procedures at an organisational and program level.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will require:





- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Human Resources or Business discipline with a focus on human resources
- Current Queensland Driver's Licence.
- AFP National Police Check
- Blue Card (Working with Children Card)
- Significant experience in a senior Human Resources Management role, preferably in a not for profit environment or in the health sector
- Demonstrated understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York.
- Demonstrated Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs.
- Ability to travel in Cape York either by light aircraft or 4WD as required
- Applicants are required to provide an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander referee or a written reference from an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge and skills as they relate to the following capabilities:
- Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York.
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs.
