Your Opportunity
As the Human Resources Officer you will:
Contribute and be responsible for providing efficient organisational proceses, activities and administration support to the People and Culture business unit; and provide first level general advice to staff in relation to payroll and reporting enquiries ensuring all assigned tasks are completed in an organised and effective manner achieving high levels of customer service with internal/external stakeholders.
This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 30 June 2023 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at South Bank Campus, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform general administration duties including processing a wide range of return to work and rehabilitation, payroll and establishment documentation, completion of forms, maintain local registers and databases and ensure payroll processing deadlines and other processing requirements are met.
• Provide a range of basic reports (regular and ad hoc) in relation to temporary end dates, establishment management and leave, and work with the People and Culture team to identify trends.
• Maintain the data integrity of a range of employee records, registers and information systems needed to ensure accurate data for reporting purposes at team and regional level.
• Provide a high standard of administrative support including word processing, data validation and input, basic correspondence and related documentation, records maintenance and filing.
• Respond and provide general guidance and assistance (where appropriate) to managers and staff in relation to administrative systems payroll and reporting.
• Comply with quality policy, procedure and process documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency in work performed and undertake research and development on matters relation to human resources.
• Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices where appropriate and ensure day to day activities align with business operations.
• Participate in other projects as required.
• Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Showing Initiative, Focussing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
1.
Demonstrated ability to comply with policies and procedures when processing payroll and establishment information and provide payroll guidance and assistance to managers and staff in a rapidly changing commercial environment.
2. Displays the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
3. Exercise proficiency in the utilisation of desktop applications, the internet and core business systems relevant to administration, payroll, establishment and reporting.
4. High level communication skills and the ability to sustain productive stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders and colleagues to achieve commercial outcomes for the business.
5. Commitment to the values of the organisation through modelling of behaviours and the provision of professional and outstanding customer service.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

Highly Desirable Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or business, and experience in Human Resources, Payroll or a related discipline will be considered favourably.
* High level proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite
