Excellent permanent or contracting (12 months with a view to extend) opportunity for an experienced Lead Software Engineer with a back-end focus to join a critical transformational program that will build a new HR platform from the ground up using the latest cloud technologies. This program will build a current digital experience for our Macquarie users and your role will be to design and build a new cloud-based HR platform to deliver a first-class experience to our employees globally.

To succeed in this role, you need to be an experienced, well-rounded engineer, with a solid understanding of best practices for application solution architecture, design and development.

You will be a valued member of our team if you are a self-motivated team player and have excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage with all levels of stakeholders.

We anticipate to excel in this role you will bring:

- Strong knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript / NodeJS
- experience with RESTful APIs and cloud based microservices architecture
- experience with SQL or NoSQL databases including performance tuning and design
- understanding of container and container orchestration technology such as Docker and Kubernetes
- experience designing scalable, cloud-native, distributed software backends utilising modern development architectures




- experience in using messaging technologies such as SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ or Kafka
- experience with AWS technologies such as but not limited to: EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, LAMBDA, MSK.
