We are seeking a highly passionate and engaging Nurse Unit Manager to join our Oncology ward.
About Us
John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the north west of Melbourne. With 186 registered beds, a 12 cubicle Emergency Department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed critical care complex and busy Day Procedure Unit the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community. The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.
As a Nurse Unit Manager Your Responsibilities Will Include
- The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Oncology Ward to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients.
- You will provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.
- As the Nurse Unit Manager you will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources
Essential Criteria
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Working with Children check
- Relevant oncology experience
- Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
- Compliance with ACSQHC National standards
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role
- Computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
- Demonstrated HR management experience

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Victoria - Nurses and Midwives Agreement 2016-2020" ($61.06 per hour).
