Seniors Rights Service has been assisting older Australians as the leading provider of legal services, aged care advocacy and rights education and information to seniors in NSW since 1986. Seniors Rights Service provides support to older people to know and assert their rights. We have a free legal service as well as aged care advocacy and service system navigator programs. Seniors Rights Service also delivers community education and information of relevance to older people across NSW.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The People and Culture Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the coordination and support of Seniors Rights Service’s People and Culture function through HR coordination and advisory activities that support our people systems and processes. This role will support People and Culture initiatives and ensure that managers and employees are trained and comfortable using Employment Hero and integration with other systems such as Go1. This role is also responsible for providing first level support to employees and managers on people matters and enquiries.
This role joins a small team, reporting through to the People and Culture Manager. This is a full-time position, engaged on a maximum term contract through to 30 June 2025, aligning with our current funding period. This role has access to hybrid work arrangements which include a blend of office-based and remote working arrangements.
This newly created and essential role is responsible for:
- Maintaining all HR administration and coordination activities across the employee lifecycle stages, not limited to recruitment, onboarding, learning, talent management and offboarding processes
- Responding to phone and written queries from stakeholders on a range of employment related matters
- In consultation with the Manager, People and Culture provide ER and IR advice that encompasses current legislation, Awards (SCHADS)
and Policies and Procedures in a timely and accurate way
- Ensure that Employment Hero is set-up to support people workflows and processes and that managers and employees are confident using Employment Hero
- Perform data entry, compliance management and maintenance in Employment Hero and ensure personnel records are current and complete through electronic filing of documents.
- Assist with the recruitment processes including posting and closing job advertisements across multiple platforms and assisting Hiring Managers with recruitment activities during peak periods.
- Manage the pre-employment screening process and ensure compliance with our criminal history check provider - Fit2work
- Support HR projects across the organisation that align to the strategy, including the set-up and use of HR modules within Employment Hero
- Contribute to the development of department goals, objectives, and systems and provide recommendations to enhance processes and workflows as needed
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR function and tasks, including the efficient management of the People and Culture inbox, as directed by the People and Culture Manager
- Coordinate relevant HR reporting
- Keep up to date with HR legislation and best practice
- Manage documents within the People and Culture section of the intranet, ensuring that documents and tools are updated as required
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective policies and procedures
- Some intrastate travel may be required
ABOUT YOU
1. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or other relevant qualification, or equivalent HR coordination experience in a similar role
2. Recent experience in a similar role or in an NGO, coordinating HR administration and providing a range of HR and first level advice in accordance with applicable awards and policies and procedures
3. Experience and knowledge of the SCHADS Award would be a significant advantage
4.
Extensive systems experience with a HRIS or LMS - experience with Employment Hero and Go1 is highly desirable
5. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders
6. Adapts well to and can facilitate and advocate change in a growing organisation
7. Ability to work under pressure, manage complex and often competing tasks and priorities and the ability to prioritise your own work to deliver results
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
9. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
10. Excellent computer skills and experience in data entry including Microsoft Office 365
11. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team
12. A positive and professional approach with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
13. Hands on with a can-do attitude and willing to get involved in a wide range of tasks and projects
14. Willingness to obtain an annual flu vaccination, be fully COVID vaccinated and complete a National Criminal History check.
