What is the role?
As the Principal Human Resource Advisor, you will work in partnership with the business to provide quality, customer-centric,
strategic and tactical advice to improve Information Technology Branch (ITB) operations through focussed continuous improvement initiatives for our people.
The role is varied, fast paced, hands on and requires a person who can manage multiple tasks and cope under pressure whilst keeping a positive attitude.
You will work closely with our small team to establish trusted relationships with stakeholders, providing accurate and timely advice and support to managers and employees in the delivery of operational objectives.
Your day may look like.
Provide expert knowledge, strategic advice and guidance to ITB leadership and staff on a wide range of HR matters including legislation, policy, systems and processes
Manage and lead the development, implementation and evaluation of human resource projects for ITB and take on critical work as required
Provide business focussed HR management advice and lead the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative and effective workplace policies, practices and procedures
Actively work with supervisors and managers to maintain strong governance around human resource practices whilst ensuring they remain operationally effective
Provide tactical advice and support on complex or sensitive HR cases and issues including disciplinary matters, employee complaints,
union representations and other matters requiring executive response
Partner with the business to analyse complex human resource (HR) issues and provide client focused solutions
Who are you?
You are an energetic, results driven and skilled HR practitioner with an eye for detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building positive working relationships across the business.
Approaching issues and opportunities with a collaborative and an informed solutions- focused attitude, you have a demonstrated ability in providing practical support in driving employment and engagement initiatives in a high volume and varied setting with conflicting demands and priorities.
We will value your ability to quickly develop strong working relationships across all levels of leadership, operating with a high degree of trust and transparency.
You have experience in end-to- end people and culture roles, bringing this knowledge to the role, along with your ability to provide hands on practical support.
