Full Time Permanent | $89,000 + Super | West Gippsland

Your new company
Located just over an hour from Melbourne our well known client is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join their team in West Gippsland. Our client aims to deliver the highest quality support to both primary and secondary schools across Victoria.

You will be responsible for the following

- Conduct end to end payroll duties for 1,500 staff members
- Ensure compliance in accordance with policy and procedures is corrected and applicable to the industrial agreement, ATO and related legislations
- Actively participate in change and system implementation while assisting in planning, implementing, reviewing and training in software systems
- Provide timely information and advice to principals and school staff on payroll related matters, and respond, in the first instance, to school queries including those related to relevant industrial instruments
- Provide coaching and mentoring to School Payroll Officers, ensuring they are appropriately trained and committed to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in customer service
- Provide, facilitate and/or support induction and skilled learning to school administration staff in payroll and related matters




- Other Payroll and Administration duties

What you'll need to succeed

- Extensive knowledge and experience in payroll/human resources functions
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel applications
- The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including principals and school staff
- the ability to work as part of a team to achieve both individual and team objectives
- A demonstrated commitment to and understanding of child protection and child safety issues in schools
- A valid employee Working with Children's Check
- 3x Covid-19 Vaccinations

*The successful applicant will be required to obtain a Police Check*
