Brief Summary of role:

The case manager is responsible for working with at-risk youth to engage them in pro-social activities, outreach programs and other early intervention and/or diversionary measures to achieve positive behaviour change. Provide case management services to youth at-risk of entering, or having entered, the justice system and support the progress and development of other team members.

To be responsible for the provision of a culturally appropriate service to all individual clients, including effective and professional communication with youth.

Male Identified Position

Remuneration package:

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $69,313.34 per annum (pro-rata)

Entitlements/Benefits: 6 Weeks Annual Leave + 2 Weeks Sick Leave + 2 Weeks Ancillary Leave + 1 RDO per Month

Location: Kalano’s Big Rivers Child & Family Centre, Katherine NT

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week – 7.5 hours per day [Monday to Friday | 08:00am – 4:30pm]

The successful applicant should posses the following attributes, skills and competencies;





• Certificate IV in Community Services (or willing to obtain)

• High standard of both written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and knowledge of issues impacting on Aboriginal children and families, youth and adults.

• Experience with case management, youth work or community services.

• Proficiency in the use of electronic information systems for the maintenance of progress notes and reports.

• Ability to work in a team as well as unsupervised.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare written reports/notes of a high standard.

• Cross cultural awareness and effective communication skills with both participants and stakeholders from diverse cultures.

• A positive attitude with a high standard of work ethic.

• Willingness to undertake further training as required.

• Valid NT Drivers Licence, Valid Ochre Card and willingness to undergo a National Police Check
