THE ROLE
As a Practice Manager, you'll lead the dynamic administration and fee-earning team and oversee the management of their office space, directly reporting to their esteemed equity partners. You will also oversee major accounting functions. Your role will be pivotal in driving the operational excellence of the firm, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Managing accounts, including budgeting, profit strategies, and financial analysis. Handle regular and timely reporting, as well as forecasting for expenses and revenue needs.
- Ensure solicitors complete client billing promptly and efficiently.
- Oversee various administrative functions such as insurance, practice certifications, law society issues, IT management, and banking/regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement in-house training programs for staff, including ongoing solicitor development and Continuing Career development (CPD).
- Handle staff-related matters including leave, scheduling, recruitment, and new staff inductions.
- Ensure effective staff training on legal softwares and manage staff needs for technology, equipment, legal resources, and facilities.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for legal staff.
- Organise and manage social events for the firm.
- Ensure the firm adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards,
including updates to workplace laws and industry regulations.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered an ideal candidate for this position, you should ideally possess the following:
- At least 5 years experience working in a legal firm as a practice manager, with a strong background in accounting
- Comprehensive understanding of legal administrative processes and procedures.
- Exceptional organisational and multitasking capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in using legal practice management software and Microsoft Office suite.
