What We Are Looking For
About the Team
You will be an integral member of the Electronic Solutions team. The Software Simulation and Training team is focused on delivering simulation and training systems in support of military vehicle modernisation programs. This position can be based from the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence site located in Redbank, QLD or the Adelaide office, SA.
About The Role
You will work in partnership with Project Managers and project teams for the design, implementation and documentation of the Land 400 Simulation & Training Equipment.
As the Cyber Security Engineer , you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Conduct a thread analysis for various training systems and identify treatment controls;
- Recommend security solutions in response to requirements;
- Realise selected concepts into documented designs using a variety of languages and design tools including C++, Python in Windows environments;
- Perform code reviews and recommend improvements to the Engineering team;
- Provide product security guidance to Project and Product Development teams throughout all phases of the product life cycle;
- Analyse existing product solutions and make recommendations to resolve deficiencies;
- Provide detailed reporting on risks to physical and cyber security;
- Educate and train in security aspects as required;
- Review project deliverables on product security, which incorporates the ICT System Security and Security Risk Management Plans;
- Liaise with external Stakeholders including: Security Organisations and Government/Defence Security Organisations; and
- Engagement with relevant accreditation bodies on matters relating to ICT accreditation.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Proven experience in a relevant Cyber Security role;
- Cyber Security Engineering experience with software development, computer networks and embedded software systems;
- Experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle;
- Experience with the Information Security Manual is highly desirable;
- Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent;
- Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
