- Remuneration: $78,130 - $88,407 + (+17% super and leave loading)

Why Your Role Matters:
The Research Assistant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers in the area of neurological disorders. The position will provide technical and research assistance to senior research staff in activities associated with various projects, particularly those developing video and web resources for families and clinicians to support the informed consent, decision-making and education for the use of novel therapies in child neurology.
Responsibilities:
- Develop familiarity with the scientific literature in the research area and assist researchers with the preparation of ethics applications, research protocols, publications and grant applications, presentations and ensure documents are submitted in a timely manner.
- Coordinate activities associated with research projects, including scheduling appointments, assist in coordinating recruitment and assist with sample collection, processing, logging and storage.
- Administer, maintain and coordinate the logistical aspects of the research projects according to Good Clinical Practice and relevant Standard Operating Procedures, and monitor the progress of research activities.
- Provide data management and reporting, monitor study progress, and liaise with researchers.
- Support development of web -design for dissemination of resources.
Who You Are:
- A degree or other tertiary qualification in Science, Health Science, public health, psychology, behavioural sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Skills in designing web resources (eg QR codes, URLs and websites).
- Demonstrated success provide research assistance independently and within a team to research.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal,
verbal and written communication skills with an ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality, and an aptitude to show understanding of the issues faced by patients and families.
- Basic understanding in data management, using statistical analysis tools (including quantitative and qualitative analyses) and reporting research findings.
